Whether you want some garden storage, an additional childrens playroom or an adult retreat, a summerhouse is a great addition to any garden. We are able to offer Shiplap, Loglap or Weatherboard as external claddings, all of which are pressure treated and require no further treatment. The main summerhouse above has been clad with Loglap.

All our summerhouses are manufactured using a combination of carefully selected proven materials, bringing together traditional, sustainable, natural timber and the latest manufacturing techniques. By combining these assets Chart Stables produces beautiful summerhouses which will look stunning in your garden.

Wall Construction

Walls are built with 100mm x 50mm (4” x 2”) timber framing spaced at 600mm (2’) centres, and are diagonally braced where necessary.

Wall Cladding

Selected high quality Shiplap 22mm x 145mm, Weatherboard 2 ex 22mm x 150mm, Loglap 22mm x 100mm, pressure impregnated Tanalith E™ to ensure a long maintenance-free life. All boarding is fixed with rust resisting nails treated to ensure a long maintenance-free life.

Wall Lining

Reinforced moisture resistant bitumen impregnated lining paper to BS 1521 (120gsm) grade is placed between the studwork and cladding. Various internal wall linings and Rockwool insulation are available on request.

Roof Construction

Purlins are 125mm x 50mm (5” x 2”) which are held in place by joist holders on prefabricated trusses. Roofs are then boarded with 18mm Plyboard and covered with 38kg green mineral felt. A 904mm (3’) canopy is included to the front of the building. Options include Onduline roof sheeting, cedar shingles or felt tiles.

Doors

Double French doors complete with frame, door sill and 14mm double glazing are included. Doors are outward opening. We can also offer a range of hardwood and softwood doors details of which can be found on page 35 of our brochure.

Windows

We include 2 x opening Georgian casement style windows fitted with 14mm double glazing, and measure 631mm x 1050mm (207/8 x 413/8).Further options of single and double glazed units can be found on page 36 of our brochure.

Height

To eaves 2285mm (7’6”) not including the floor or brickcourse, we are able to increase this should you require. The overall height of the building will vary upon the width of the building, please enquire.

Guttering

Black 100mm (4”) half round guttering and down pipes are fitted.

Barge Boards

All in pressure impregnated, prepared timber, fixed with rust resisting nails.

Floors

Floors are constructed using 75mm x 50mm (3” x 2”) joists as framing which is then covered with 18mm (3/4”) V313 board. Tongue and groove floor boards are available. Insulation can be added as an optional extra.

Timber Treatment

All timber is pressure treated with Tanalith™ wood preservative.
