Assembly Made Simple

When you order a DIY timber building from Chart Stables we make sure that you can assemble your new building as quickly and as simply as possible. Before we deliver your DIY timber building, we construct many of the major elements in our Workshops here in Ashord, so when your building arrives it's ready to assemble.

• • All the panels are pre-clad and can be immediately placed on your brickwork
• • Apex's have the joist holders fitted and are already placed on the end gable walls
• • Doors are fitted with all the necessary ironmongery
• • Roof purlins, kickboards, roof sheeting, fascia boards, barge boards and finishing strips are all cut to size and ready to fit
• • Detailed assembly instructions accomapny your building

Assembly Times and Example Prices

Clearly our erectors are highly trained and experienced as they are putting up buildings every day of the week and they will obviously be quicker assembling a building than someone without experience. However assembly of our DIY timber buildings is very straight forward and can be erected by anyone who has basic DIY skills.

To give you an idea of assembly times, below are several popular buildings with an average time for assembly by 2 men.

• 1 x 18' x 12' (5.4m x 3.6m) Mobile Field Shelter = 1.5 hours
  Assembled price not including delivery £1895.00 plus VAT.

• 1 x 16' x 12' (4.8m x 3.6m) Corner unit, 2 x 12' x 12' (3.6m x 3.6m) Stables and 1 x 6' x 12' (1.8m x 3.6m) Tack Room. Clipper Range = 6 hours

  DIY price £3712.00 plus VAT.
  
  3 x 12' x 12' (3.6m x 3.6m) Chart Range Stables = 4.5 hours

Health and Safety

Please give serious thought to Health and Safety issues. We strongly advise the use of safety boots, goggles and a hard hat. Ladders can be dangerous and should be used cautiously. When working on the roof please take care and use safety towers. The majority of the components are heavy and extreme care should be taken when lifting. Please do take care and do not risk injury. We would advise you not to work alone. If in doubt we would suggest visiting the HSE web site.

Delivery Options

Option 1
You can collect directly from our workshops here in Ashford, Kent.

Option 2
We can arrange for your building(s) to be collected from Chart House and delivered to you by a local haulage company.  Please do give us a ring to discuss this option on 01233 611123.

With both Option 1 and 2 you will enjoy a 20% saving on the basic unit prices.

We manufacture your building(s) in timber sectional panels and provide all the ancillary elements to complete the building(s) to your specification.

A Base Plan will be provided to enable you/your builder to prepare the necessary base works.

Full assembly guidelines will be provided which are particular to your specific building(s).  Our Technical Department is available during office hours to assist with any advice should you require support during the erecting process.

With Option 2 we will arrange for the haulage operator to deliver your building(s) at a mutually convenient time but manpower must be made available to off-load the lorry.
